Brass Bowls: A Sparkly Succulent Tutorial

Today’s post is brought to you by Aimee from Refresh-Renew, and I’m super excited to have her posting today because she has an awesome indoor gardening project to share with you guys! This is perfect for anyone who loves plants but doesn’t want anything too time-consuming!

Hi, I’m Aimee Schmitt from Refresh-Renew, and I am honored to guest post for Jessi today! I am a relatively new blogger. I began with great aspirations about three years ago, but then my husband’s job change moved us across the country. Little did I know that the one move would turn into four over the next three years before we got to settle into our current home in Northern CA.

Needless to say, blogging took a back seat to packing and unpacking for this family of four. So, I have been actively blogging only since the Spring of 2013 and I am finding I love to express my creativity by sharing a love for inspirational, frugal, practical ideas to update and bring loads of style to every room of the house.

I hope you enjoy this fun and simple project to bring some bling into your home.

A little green goes a long way to make a home feel cozy. But if you are like me and you have a tendency to forget the water until it is too late, then succulents are the perfect solution.

Planting succulents in a container that reflects the seasons is an easy way to update your decor.

These brass bowls were picked up at an estate sale for $2….

Succulent cutting–free {from my mom’s existing plant}.

A little dirt….

And pretty pebbles as a top cover.

And you’re done! A beautiful and practical solution for adding shine and green to your home.

A little water will go a long way with these plants.

Here is another bowl with a different type of succulent.

Pretty in any setting.

These also make great gift ideas.

Aren’t those planters the coolest?! Perfect for continuing your garden even through fall and winter when the weather gets cold!

Thanks so much for sharing this fabulous project with us Aimee! Make sure you guys go check out her blog; she’s done some pretty awesome projects recently that I think you’re gonna love (she stenciled furniture with dark wax, and made some adorable vintage bathroom towel hooks; love them!)
