Decorating With Prefab Furniture – Part 2

Remember the awesome pre-fab sofa table we got from Sauder Furniture a while back? It is definitely pulling its weight around here; it’s so multi-functional! After a few months of using it for its intended purpose (to cover up the back of the sofa), I decided it might actually work really well as an entryway table. So I moved it over closer to the front door, and it’s working great as a little welcome table/drop space for all of our stuff!

The table is the first thing you see when you walk into the house, and it makes the perfect drop space! We use the basket for incoming mail and paperwork, and we put our keys etc. in the drawers. Plus, now that the weather is getting chilly, we have bins for hats, gloves, and scarves on the lower shelf. It’s also really nice to have our slippers right there in the entryway so we can slip right into them as soon as we get home!

And I really like having the mirror leaning there so I can quickly check my hair before I leave. I get crazy frizzies now that the air is so dry!

Since the table is right in the front entryway, it’s also the perfect place for seasonal or holiday decor! I moved some things around and added our fall decor to the table, which will be perfect for Thanksgiving!

It’s the perfect place for the 10 minute tea light candle centerpiece I made from a tree branch, plus I can still store my boots on the bottom shelf so they’re out of the way!

We might move it back and use it as a sofa table again at some point, but for now I’m loving it where it is! Remember, just because it’s a sofa table, doesn’t mean you have to use it as a sofa table; it can be whatever you want!

How do you get creative with your furniture? Have you repurposed a piece of furniture for something other than itTs original intended use? I’ve seen some really creative stuff, like using an old changing table as a bar cart, or using wooden crates as nightstands! For more furniture inspiration, check out my Furniture Pinterest board!

Disclosure: I was compensated by Sauder Furniture and TapInfluence in exchange for my honest discussion of their products. But this is probably the best experience I’ve ever had with prefab furniture, and I won’t hesitate to go back to their site and buy more furniture from them! All opinions in this post are 100% my own; I would never write a post about something I didn’t think was useful or interesting for you guys, and Practically Functional will only publish sponsored posts for companies or products I love and believe in!
