Some of these plants are powerful and they make cleaning products that clean, disinfect, and smell nice. Some of them do even more. These oils are mixed with water. It only takes a few drops to make the solutions, so you save money by using them.

Peppermint and Lemon Essential Oil Cleaner

This is hands down, our most popular natural homemade cleaning product.

Here’s what you need:

• 16-ounce spray bottle
• 15 drops peppermint oil
• 25 drops lemon essential oil
• ¼ cup of white vinegar

Instructions

Pour the vinegar and oils in the spray bottle and shake to mix. Add the water and place the top on the bottle and shake well.

This is a powerful cleaner, but it does so much more. Spray in your kitchen drawers and around baseboards to repel mice. Spray around your doors or doghouse to repel fleas and ticks. Add a few drops of the peppermint oil when bathing your dog and rub (avoiding the eyes and genitals) and your dog will be much less prone to attract fleas and ticks.

Tea Tree Oil Wipes

Disinfectant wipes are not cheap. But these do the job well and for a lot less money. These homemade Tea Tree Oil wipes can be used for counter cleaner, in the car, and on dirty hands as well.

Here’s what you need:

• An empty wipe container (or a Mason jar with a lid)
• 1-2 teaspoons liquid dish soap
• 1 cup vinegar
• 10 drops of tea tree oil
• 1 Roll of paper towels

Instructions

Mix ingredients in the container and shake well to mix. Now you add your paper towels.

Replace the lid and shake it before each use. These can be used on anything. From counters to faces and hands (but avoid the eyes).

Note: a drop or two of tea tree oil behind the ears, neck, and dabbed on the part of the hairline will prevent head lice. It is also good for skin problems.

Fresh Mint Window Cleaner

What you will need:

• 16-ounce bottle
• ¼ cup rubbing alcohol (or vodka)
• 20 drops peppermint oil (spearmint oil also works)
• 3 cups water (distilled)
• ¼ cup vinegar

Instructions

Just put everything in the bottle, shake, and spray on glass and mirrors. Dry with a paper towel when finished.

All-Purpose Lemon Cleaner

What you will need

• 32-ounce spray bottle
• 2 cups white vinegar
• 2 cups water
• 1 teaspoon natural dish soap
• 30 drops lemon essential oil
• 20 drops tea tree essential oil

Instructions

Mix all ingredients together in the spray bottle. Spray on surfaces in your bathroom, kitchen, etc. that you wish to clean. Wipe down with a paper towel or a microfiber cleaning cloth.

This is good for everything. I always have this in the bathroom. It cleans the shower (and I mist it on the liner) the sink and the toilet. I also use it to damp mop the floors.

Lemon Carpet Refresher

What you will need:

• 1 cup baking soda
• 30 drops lemon essential oil
• Mason jar with lid

Do you need to get pet smells out of the house? Put this in a jar with a tight lid and shake well. Let it sit for about 6 hours. Then sprinkle it on the smelly area and let it sit 30 minutes or more. Vacuum it up. Pet smells will be gone and your vacuum will smell nice when you turn it on.
