Are you ready for the big game? Whether you’re watching the Super Bowl or just a regular Sunday football game (or even if you’re celebrating a football fan’s birthday!), hosting a football-themed party is a great way to get together with family and friends and celebrate your team! Here are some great football party ideas to help you throw a great party complete with football themed decorations, food, and more!
DIY Football Party Ideas
Set up all of your refreshments in one place to make it easy for your guests to find what they need. A small table or a section of countertop works great!
I put down green felt on top of our table and used white adhesive vinyl and white duct tape to make football field markings; it turned out pretty cute! You can find a detailed, step by step tutorial for the DIY football field tablecloth here, plus I shared free printable templates for the numbers in that post, so check it out!
Be sure to set out napkins and silverware as well. If you get yellow napkins they can be “penalty flags”! I covered a few empty tin cans with some printed football-themed designs to hold silverware and I love how they turned out. Get the free printable utensil holder labels here.
As far as refreshments go, I set out a large pitcher of water and a couple appetizers. We made giant soft pretzels and set out a few different items to dip them in, and also made deviled eggs and our favorite bacon wrapped dates!
If you want to have small snacks available, package them up in cute football shaped treat boxes! I shared the free printable templates and a tutorial on making those boxes last week, so click over to that post to download the templates and make your own.
If you’re offering larger snacks, you can decorate paper bags to look like footballs! Just cut out laces from a white piece of paper and glue it onto the bag; super cute!
Hang a simple paper banner or bunting to help decorate the space and cheer on your favorite team! I’ve shared the free printable football banner here, complete with every letter of the alphabet and numbers 0-9 so you can print out whatever message you’d like!
