I saw a great post from Adrianne at Happy Hour Projects a while back about making stuffed hot dogs. They looked yummy so I figured we’d give them a try one night…

Turns out they were absolutely delicious!

Mashed potato stuffed hot dogs

You can find the original recipe and cooking instructions on Happy Hour Projects, but basically all you need are hot dogs, buns, some leftover mashed potatoes, a broiler, and about five minutes. Yum!

The only thing I did differently is that I didn’t put mustard in the hot dogs before adding the mashed potatoes. I don’t really like mustard, so I just put the potatoes in and we added our own toppings after they were done cooking.

Seriously, if you like hot dogs and you like mashed potatoes, you have to try this recipe! It’s super quick and easy to make, and it helps you get rid of some of those pesky leftovers. Perfect!

Are you a hot dog fan? What do you put on your hot dogs? Apparently here in Chicago, you’re not supposed to put ketchup on your hot dogs. Unfortunately, that’s the only “embellishment” I like on my hot dogs, so I guess I’ll never really fit in. 🙂
